
Aims:
The Bachelor of Science in Technology Management aims to prepare students for a career in the technology management profession who:
- are able to practice in the management of various sectors of the engineering or technology profession and apply the logic, analytical problem solving and mathematical precision of engineering to the world of business processes;
- are able to manage, monitor, transfer, and innovatively exploit technology;
- have a clear understanding of the engineering profession, its ethics and responsibilities, and possess a sense of value, integrity and honesty, as well as provide leadership in their professional and personal life;
- are able to work independently and in a multicultural team;
- possess skills to reason logically and use professionally based judgment.
Objectives:
The main objectives of the program are to provide graduates with:
- a thorough understanding of fundamental principles of engineering and technology and of the management of technical enterprises;
- knowledge of current technical and managerial practice;
- ability to solve problems. The ability to view engineering in a wide context and include an appreciation of the social, environmental, financial and commercial implications, and professional ethics;
- the abilities to follow new developments in technology and management (e.g. by consulting journals and learned periodicals) and to independently assimilate and apply these technological developments in the solution of technology problem;
- ability to communicate effectively with professionals and non-professionals in both the technology management arenas;
- detailed knowledge of the techniques of administration and management;
- abilities to make realistic appraisal of the student’s own potential, and in particular, to think independently, creatively and in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner.
